ASTM Type II deionized water is often referred to as the "workhorse" of the modern laboratory. It provides a level of purity that is essential for a wide range of analytical and clinical applications where the presence of ions or organic contaminants could compromise results.
Unlike standard distilled water, which may still contain trace minerals and volatile organics, our certified Type II DI water undergoes a rigorous purification process including carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, and mixed-bed deionization to achieve a resistivity of >1.0 MΩ·cm.

While CPAP machines typically require distilled water to prevent scale buildup, ASTM Type II DI water is even purer and is perfectly safe for use in humidification systems.
Once opened, DI water will slowly absorb carbon dioxide from the air, which can lower its resistivity. For critical lab work, we recommend using the water within 30 days of opening.
